Gagglebabble are a Cardiff based theatre company, founded by Lucy Rivers and Hannah McPake.
We aim to create entertaining genre breaking high-quality gig theatre for adults. We like to tear up the rulebook and bring a breath of fresh air to the often stuffy and over sincere world of theatre. Rock n Roll Theatre for a new generation of theatre audience.
We are associate companies of Theatr Iolo and The Other Room.
What we do
Co-founded in 2012, Gagglebabble have toured throughout Wales and to major international festivals in England and Scotland.
We have presented two full productions to date The Bloody Ballad and The Forsythe Sisters, and are currently producing 2 new shows; Wonderman a co-production with NTW and The Sinners Club a co-production with The Other Room and Theatre Clwyd.
We create original work inspired by everything from folk tales, to historical characters, local myths or a fresh take on the writings of established authors. Music is at the heart of the work we make and we always include original score played by professional musicians. We work collaboratively with a wide pool of like-minded individuals from actors, directors and designers to animators and filmmakers.
Our shows and style are not always confined to traditional theatre spaces – we can also be found in church halls, music festivals, your local pub or a hotel on the top of cliffs.
