Gagglebabble are a multi award-winning Cardiff based theatre company who aim to create entertaining genre breaking high-quality Gig-theatre for adults. Rock n Roll Theatre for a new generation of theatre audience. Associate company of Wales Millennium Centre and The Other Room. Co-founded in 2012 by Lucy Rivers and Hannah Mcpake, Gagglebabble have produced 4 shows to date The Bloody Ballad, The Forsythe Sisters, Wonderman and Sinners Club. We have toured throughout Wales and to major international festivals and venues in England and Scotland.
We are drawn to stories from the wrong side of the tracks, immersive, dark and always served up with a dose of black humour. We create original work inspired by everything from local myths or historical characters, to Hitchcock thrillers or Dahl’s twisted tales. Music is at the heart of the work we make and we always include original score played by professional musicians. Our shows and style are not always confined to traditional theatre spaces – we can also be found in Church halls, music festivals, your local pub or a hotel on the top of cliffs.
We work collaboratively with a wide pool of like-minded individuals from actors, directors and designers to animators and filmmakers. We have made Co-productions with Theatr Iolo, National Theatre Wales, Wales Milennium Centre, The Other Room, Theatr Clwyd and Chapter, and we have a good relationship with the Soho Theatre London.
